I know I've quoted this song again and again. But it's such a relevant and true song, though it was written back in the 19th century.
Take my life, and let it be consecrated, Lord, to Thee.In this age and time... when one feels confused about cultural expectations - perhaps even within the church? - it's good to remember that at the heart of it all, true discipleship comes not from the roles or the posts or the ministries that you do, but from the heart within. A heart willing to throw everything aside and throw itself into the hands of Him who sought us and bought us.
Take my moments and my days; let them flow in ceaseless praise.
Take my hands, and let them move at the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet, and let them be swift and beautiful for Thee.
Take my voice, and let me sing always, only, for my King.
Take my lips, and let them be filled with messages from Thee.
Take my silver and my gold; not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect, and use every power as Thou shalt choose.
Take my will, and make it Thine; it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is Thine own; it shall be Thy royal throne.
Take my love, my Lord, I pour at Thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself, and I will be ever, only, all for Thee.
So, after a good talk with Peter today, and a thought-provoking sharing from Weizhu, it's time for me to renew my decision to totally surrender myself anew to Jesus my Lord and Master.
I need to daily crucify the old rebel in me, to ruthlessly bring him to the foot of the cross. I want to be totally, absolutely, unconditionally His. And WHEN I fail Him, I know that He still looks at me... and will ask me that piercing question: "Yeu Ann... do you love Me unconditionally?"
So here I am, Lord.
Take me, all of me
Once again, oh my God
I throw myself unto Thee.
