Doesn't Matter

Doesn't matter if you be the pauper starving
Doesn't matter if you be the Prince with his bling
Doesn't matter if you be spending or scrambling
As long as you be doing the will of the King.

Poverty or plenty, little or much
Doesn't matter, as or such
Just one heart, just one touch
For Him, that's more than enough!

Shall we see through the eyes of men
Judging the lower-caste as also-rans?
Shall we 'pise the little shepherd-boy
With the stone in his hand as his toy?

Shall we seek forums and forms
And conform our sheep to the norm?
Forgetting that to start from the heart
Be Christ's discipleship's lost art?

Doesn't matter if you be the dimwit from the pit
Doesn't matter if you be the slave in the cave
Doesn't matter if you be the fool of the boss
Doesn't matter if you be the thief on the cross.
