Doing Your Dream

How about me? One of my dreams is to be a public speaker, to speak to as many people as I can about God, and to encourage others. Another dream I have is to be a film director, to make short videos that would be like short stories, on the level of Ray Bradbury and so on. Yet another dream I have is to become a writer, to write stories to speak to the hearts of children. The purpose behind all these dreams, is that I may be able to tell His story to the nations, to tell them about the love of Jesus Christ.

To run a ministry to train people to become better encouragers. To preach the gospel to all the children of the world. To set up an orphanage / charity for orphans...
We’ve a story to tell to the nations,
That shall turn their hearts to the right,
A story of truth and mercy,
A story of peace and light,
A story of peace and light.

For the darkness shall turn to dawning,
And the dawning to noonday bright;
And Christ’s great kingdom shall come on earth,
The kingdom of love and light.

We’ve a Savior to show to the nations,
Who the path of sorrow has trod,
That all of the world’s great peoples
Might come to the truth of God,
Might come to the truth of God.

What steps have I taken? Hmm. I've started on a short story, but that's nothing compared to what one brother (let's call him KW) who has finished an entire novella in his free time. 90 pages! Gosh. That's awesomely wonderful! Short stories... they are harder to write, but I know that with God's help it can be done. Because my generation, and the next generation are short-attention-span people.

Don't be discouraged, dear friends, if you feel that you don't have enough time! Every little moment can be used... Abraham Lincoln used his spare time to study law, and he became a lawyer, which would open the way for him to enter politics. And the rest, they say, is history: "Now he belongs to the ages."

But using our spare time well require that we take a critical stock-check of where our time goes to, and what hinder us from engaging that spare time for God.

More importantly, if we really want to dream, then we must first listen to what GOD is dreaming. It is so easy to be running here and there, thinking we are doing His will, when what is happening is that we are only burning ourselves out.

Moses knew that the Lord had chosen him to lead his people out of slavery, but he took things into his own hands and murdered an Egyptian. It was only after 40 more years, taking care of sheep in the desert, that God finally called him to go.

God will send you and me to where HE wants us to go. He highlights the cause at hand, and calls for volunteers. "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?"

So let's dream our dreams, and align them with the Lord's vision for the world. To see how our little commissions fit into His Great Commission.
"Only one life, and soon it will pass;
only what's done for Christ will last."

Amen? :D Let's encourage one another to live lives worthy of His calling today!
