Learning to See Myself

Putting it very practically, I'm learning to see myself using the metaphors and similes the Scriptures use.

Learning to see myself as dust.
Learning to see myself as a small little worm.
Learning to see myself as a jar of clay.
Learning to see myself as a sheep.
Learning to see myself as a little child of God.
Learning to see myself as a beloved.
Learning to see myself as an athlete.
Learning to see myself as a living stone.
Learning to see myself as a stranger, an alien in this world.
Learning to see myself as a grain of salt, a bright shining lamp.
Learning to see myself as a courageous soldier fervently fighting evil forces.
Learning to see myself as an ambassador to all nations.
Learning to see myself as a slave of all.
Learning to see myself as a free man of Christ.
Learning to see myself as a super-conqueror.
Learning to see myself as a captive for the faith.
Learning to see myself as a redeemed creature in eternity to come.

And I'm learning to see myself imitating these people of faith.
Learning to see myself setting out for an unknown land, like Abraham.
Learning to see myself letting Father have his way with me, like Isaac.
Learning to see myself wrestling with God, like Jacob.
Learning to see myself working hard and smart, like Joseph.
Learning to see myself speaking up courageously, like Judah.
Learning to see myself speaking with God, like Moses.
Learning to see myself fighting huge armies and fording rivers, like Joshua.
Learning to see myself standing up to giants, like David.
Learning to see myself thinking wisely, like Solomon.
Learning to see myself exercising signs and wonders, like Elijah.

Learning to see myself preaching like Peter.
Learning to see myself teaching like Paul.
Learning to see myself evangelising like Philips.
Learning to see myself speaking like Apollos.
Learning to see myself praying like Epaphras.
Learning to see myself reading like the Ethiopian eunuch.
Learning to see myself writing like Luke.
Learning to see myself dying like Stephen.
Learning to see myself encouraging like Barnabas.
Learning to see myself believing like Cornelius.
Learning to see myself sitting and listening like Mary.
Learning to see myself serving like Martha.
Learning to see myself caring like Dorcas.
Learning to see myself searching like Onesiphorus.
Learning to see myself forgiving like Philemon.
Learning to see myself tent-making like Priscilla and Aquila.

And the list goes on.

Still learning to see myself more like how He sees me.
So that I can learn to see others like how He sees them.

Isn't He wonderful indeed? :D
Wonderful, wonderful, Jesus is to me
Counsellor, Prince of Peace
Mighty God is He
Saving me, keeping me from all sin and shame
Wonderful is my Redeemer, praise His mighty name!
