Ennui

I think ennui of the soul can be contagious. By choosing to indulge in pleasing oneself, one inevitably falls into ennui. And those whom you chose not to minister to start declining into ennui too.

But even more than all these is that the further you let yourself get jockeyed away from your Shepherd, the deeper you also fall into ennui.

I think we need both to stay in close and constant community with the rest of the flock (not doing our own things as we please) and to keep in close proximity to our good Shepherd if - and especially when - the rest of the flock strays away.

Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another–and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
