Anyway, I've been wanting to write so much about the past week.
Took the children in the Nurture Programme last week out for movie outing. We watch "Up". Whoa. It was so touching. First 3 minutes, cried already. Haha. But that makes the comedy that follows even more heartwarming AND inspiring. That you're never too old to achieve your dreams... and find new dreams!
Spoiler alert - start!
Old men, young men. Together they can do great things. One stresses safety with the wisdom of senescence, the other stresses loyalty to rescue their friend with the "foolish" courage of youth. And... it was a real hoot to see two old men whacking each other in epic battle... and then something very funny happens in the middle of their whacking. Haha... proof that old men still can do good ol' fashioned hand-to-hand combat, albeit a bit slower.
Spoiler alert - end!
Anyway, brought Yuanrou (we both are in HopeKids) and Faridah, a friend I made while drinking coffee in DSTA's Rocky Master last time. And we had a whale of a time trying to get 30+ children under control. Haha. But it was v heartwarming. And Ms Raja shared with us her social work experience during the post-mortem. Very heart-aching, but also very heart-stirring.
