yeah, this is really encouraging progress!
I think the message that came across strongly was this: the church is there to guide you and help you because of love. It is not going to control you, because you can choose not to be controlled. It's your choice. There are no rules and prescriptions, only biblical principles given in love.
It is a blessing to be in a church that cares this much, and not leave us to swim around in the discombobulating postmodern potpourri of mixed-up values.
