for in you I take refuge.
I say to the LORD, "You are my Lord;
apart from you I have no good thing."
I say of the holy people who are in the land,
"They are the noble ones in whom is all my delight."
Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more.
I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods
or take up their names on my lips.
LORD, you alone are my portion and my cup;
you make my lot secure.
The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
surely I have a delightful inheritance.
I will praise the LORD, who counsels me;
even at night my heart instructs me.
I keep my eyes always on the LORD.
With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will rest secure,
because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead,
nor will you let your faithful one see decay.
You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
So beautiful. Such a deep childlikeness in the promise of God's security and faithfulness. And such a trusting heart and attitude. Thank You, Father, for teaching me how to think, speak, feel and walk in a manner that genuinely trusts You in all things.
May my confidence be in You, and You alone, for apart from You I have no good thing. May all my delight be in those who love You, who have chosen to be set apart for You - not merely those whom I have a natural affinity for, but a more sure and sound foundation for my truly close friendships: those who love Your name and have chosen to let You set them apart. In short, delight in those who are after Your own heart.
Praise Him, fix my eyes upon Him always and remember that He is at where I do my daily work (i.e. my right hand). If He is at where I work, then I will not be shaken.
So my heart is glad, my tongue rejoices, and even my physical being will rest secure even in death, as surely as Christ Jesus is the fulfillment of this psalm and the firstfruits from the dead. Yes, no zombie is He, for God did not let His body see decay! :)
Lord, You have made known to me my life's path, and in Your presence is fullness of joy, and at Your right hand are pleasures evermore.
In Jesus' name, amen!
